Connects semiconductor device modeling and IC design through the use of computer design tools, allowing readers to cut down on the considerable time and costs associated with unnecessary design revisions. Gao introduces the fundamentals of optoelectronic devices (E/O and O/E converters) and describes modeling techniques for optoelectronic devices (lasers, photodiodes) and electronic circuit elements (FET, HBT, MOSFET) used in high-speed optical transmission systems. Gao also covers design techniques for advanced optical transmitter and receiver frond-end circuits. The book includes an overview.
