Providing a brief history of one of the first U.S. colonies, New Hampshire covers details of daily colonial life and the growing political workings of America as well as the effects of revolution, reform, and restoration in England on the colony. An entire chapter is devoted to the battles and events of the Revolutionary War, and special attention is given to the role New Hampshire played in forming the Constitution, along with its place as the ninth state to ratify it.
