Reacting to President Obama's remarks in which he repeatedly apologizes for America's international power, Mitt Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts and presidential hopeful in the 2008 Republican primary, asserts that American strength is essential, not just for our own well-being, but for the world's, and proposes a new commitment to citizenship. He outlines simple solutions to rebuild industry, create good jobs, reduce out of control spending on entitlements and healthcare, dramatically improve education, and restore a military battered by eight years of war. He draws on lessons learned from the collapse of great powers in the past to propose strategies for strengthening America and preserving its global leadership.
