Abstract : This study was conducted on 682 undergraduate students from a Saudi university. The aim was to find the association between students’ learning outcomes and their characteristics, engagement, and approaches to learning. It used a questionnaire to collect data about students’ demographic characteristics, such as high school GPA; their degree of engagement, such as in active learning; development in learning outcomes, such as critical thinking, and approaches to learning. The findings indicated that these four variables were correlated with each other. Students’ engagement was correlated with learning outcomes. Also, the deep approach to learning was positively correlated with learning outcomes.
