Abstract	:	Depression is the most severe and common health concern facing International students in the United States (Shadowen et al., 2019). Social media use has been shown to impact symptoms of depression (Ahmad et al., 2018). However, previous studies on the relationship between social media and depression have yielded conflicting results. Some studies have found a significant association between the overuse of social media and depression, yet, other studies reported that overuse of social media might reduce symptoms of depression. The present study's focus was to assess the relationship between the overuse of social media and depression among Saudi students in the United States. Participants were 96 Saudi students in the United States using an anonymous, structured questionnaire, The Centre for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale, and The Social Network-Time Use Scale (SONTUS). Data was collected online by sending the questionnaires via social media (WhatsApp group, Facebook, Twitter) to Saudi students. Findings revealed that social media overuse is related to depression among Saudi students in the United States.
