Abstract : (Muḥammad) b. Ḥusayn (Ḥasan) b. ʿAlī (b. Ismāʿīl) b. Mūsā Abū Ṭāhir Ṭarsūsī (Ṭarṭūsī, Ṭūsī) (fifth/eleventh or possibly sixth/twelfth century) was a professional storyteller of mediaeval Iran to whom are attributed many prose narratives. Some of these texts refer to heroic figures of pre-Islamic Iran: Dārāb-nāma relates the fabulous tales of Dārāb the Elder, Dārāb the Younger, and Alexander the Great; Qirān-i Ḥabashī (“Qiran the Abyssinian”) and Qahramān-nāma or, as it is alternatively known, Qahramān-i Qātil (“The book of Qahramān”) take place respectively
