Abstract	:	Abū Saʿīd Shāh (1192–51/1782–1835) was the head of the Naqshbandī-Mujaddidī khānqāh (Ṣūfī convent) in Delhi in the early nineteenth century. Abū Saʿīd was a descendant of Aḥmad Sirhindī (971–1034/1564–1624), the founder of the Mujaddidī branch of the Naqshbandiyya Ṣūfī brotherhood. Born in the princely state of Rampur, where his family had moved after the Sikh destruction of Sirhind in 1764, he received a thorough religious education in the traditional and rational sciences.
