Abstract	:	Aflaḥ b. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb was the third imām (r. 208–56/823–72) of the Rustamids (r. c.161–296/778–909), an Ibāḍī dynasty founded by his grandfather ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Rustam (d. probably in 168/784–5) in Tāhart. In Aflaḥ’s time, Ibāḍism was still a popular doctrine in the central Maghrib, southern Ifrīqiya, and Tripolitania.
