Abstract	:	Al-Akhṭal al-Ṣaghīr , Bishāra ʿAbdallāh al-Khūrī (1884?–1968), was a lyrical poet of considerable merit and a harbinger of poetic change in Lebanon. He received a mixed education at al-Ḥikma school, where he studied Arabic and French literatures. He then worked in journalism, founding, in 1908, his own paper al-Barq , which became an important platform for literary change.
