Abstract	:	Abū Isḥāq Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad al-Bayhaqī (third/ninth century to early fourth/tenth century) was an Arab writer and poet. Little is known about his life. He was originally from Mughītha in the district of Bayhaq, Iran. He spent his life in Nīshāpūr, in Khurāsān, serving the Ṭāhirids under ʿUbaydallāh b. ʿAbdallāh (d. 300/913), and then the Ṣaffārids, and in Baghdad and Sāmarrāʾ, where the literary milieu and court environment of the caliphate was located. Among his teachers, al-Bayhaqī (d. 565/1169–70) mentions Abū Saʿīd Aḥmad
