Abstract	:	Afḍal al-Dīn Muḥammad b. Nāmāwar b. ʿAbd al-Malik al-Khūnajī (590–646/1194–1248) is a central figure in the history of Arabic logic. Though taking his departure from the works of Ibn Sīnā (Avicenna, d. 428/1037), he modified Ibn Sīnā's position on a number of central points and discussed a range of issues that do not seem to have been discussed by earlier logicians. These modifications and novel discussions came to be incorporated into the handbooks on logic that continued to be studied in Islamic
