Abstract	:	Ibrāhīm ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Māzinī (1890–1949) was an Egyptian writer whose fiction made a distinct contribution to the emergence of the novel in modern Arabic literature. He was also a prolific and talented essayist, a pioneer in the development of literary criticism, an accomplished translator from English, a journalist, a poet, and a dramaturgist.
