Sahl a l-ʿAskarī (d. c.400/1010) was a lexicographer and adīb who composed accessible, well-structured, and comprehensive manuals on a wide array of topics designated for the educated public of Būyid Iran, who needed to master and display their command of Arabic literary culture.
