Abstract : The golden age of Islamic architecture in Córdoba was the period of the Umayyad amīrate and caliphate, between 138/756 and 400/1010. The best-preserved construction is the Great Mosque of Córdoba, which, together with the ruins of the palatine city of Madīnat al-Zahrāʾ, are the most representative monuments of the Umayyad dynasty in al-Andalus. After the demise of the caliphate, around 421/1030, the cultural and artistic decline of the city began.
