Abstract	:	Wujūd , a fundamental notion in Islamic metaphysics, is normally translated as “ existence ” in philosophy and theology . It plays a role also in the consideration of the nature of created things, which are often taken to consist of two aspects, the essence of each thing and the existence that comes to that essence. 1.
