Abstract	:	Genetic testing is the analysis of DNA molecules, which is used to detect genetic disorders and identify people. The discussion in contemporary fiqh (jurisprudence) of the use of genetic testing in identification is considered in this article, with a focus on parenthood, especially paternity. The use of of DNA technology to establish parenthood is a modern development. The wide acceptance of a technology-based definition of parenthood in countries such as the United States and England may be explained to only a limited extent by its foundation in the “scientific”
