Abstract	:	Muḥammad b. Ayyūb al-Anṣārī Ibn Ghālib al-Gharnāṭī (fl. sixth/twelfth century) was an Andalusian historian, probably from Granada. He is known only as the author of the Farḥat al-anfus fī akhbār al-Andalus , a history of al-Andalus up to the Almoravid era (the title varies according to the source that cites it). The only fragment remaining of Farḥat al-anfus (Taʿlīq muntaqā min Farḥat al-anfus) contains a summary of its geographical section. Little is known about Ibn Ghālib’s life, as no biography is available.
