ʿAwn al-Dīn Abū l-Muẓaffar Ibn Hubayra (b. 499/1105–6, d. 560/1165) was a Ḥanbalī scholar who served as wazīr under the ʿAbbāsid caliphs al-Muqtafī (r. 530–55/1136–60) and al-Mustanjid (r. 555–66/1160–70). He was born in Dūr, a village northwest of Baghdad, and, as a youth, moved to the ʿAbbāsid capital, where he studied Ḥanbalī jurisprudence (fiqh) , Arabic philology, and traditions.
