Abstract	:	Muhsinzade Mehmed (Muḥsinzāde Meḥmed) Paşa (d. 1188/1774) was a late thirteenth/eighteenth-century grand vizier who possessed expert knowledge of socio-political conditions throughout the Ottoman Empire and also understood the political situation in European countries. In addition to his illustrious political career, Mehmed was well known as a leading member of the Cerrahi (Jarrāḥī) Ṣūfī order and author of a biography of the founder of that order, Nureddin Cerrahi (Nūr al-Dīn Meḥmed Jarrāḥī, d. 1133/1721).
