Abstract	:	ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Mushfiqī Bukhārāʾī (932–96/1525–88) was a lyrical and satirical poet who lived between Bukhārā and Samarqand, and worked at the court of the Shaybānids (r. 906–1007/1500–99). He was born in Bukhārā in 932/1525 or 946/1538 but his father was from Marv, which is why he is also known as Marvazī. He trained in Samarqand and Bukhārā where he studied the religious sciences, mathematics, astrology, and geomancy (raml) at a madrasa .
