Abstract : Āgahī was the pen name of Muḥammad Riḍā Erniyāz bek oghli (1809–74), a poet, historian, and translator. He served in the court of the khān s of Khiva, in Khwārazm, as a chronicler. Āgahī, a nephew of the poet and historian Muʾnis Khwārazmī (d. 1829), wrote in Persian and Chaghatay. Āgahī was engaged in creative activities in three fields: 1) Poetry: In 1872 Āgahī created a dīvān (a collection of his own poetry) titled Taʿvīdh al-ʿāshiqīn (“The talisman of lovers”). In this dīvān , Āgahī included primarily his poems
