Abstract	:	Mīr Shihāb al-Dīn ʿImād al-Mulk Ghāzī al-Dīn Khān (c. 1148–1215/c.1735–1800), of the Āṣaf Jāhī family, held high office at the late twelfth-early thirteenth/mid-eighteenth-century Mughal court, when significant political and military conflicts transformed the empire. Notable amongst these transformations was the devolution of Mughal central power to regional kingdoms and multiple invasions of North India by Aḥmad Shāh Durrānī, the leader of the Abdālī Afghans and founder of the Durrānī kingdom (r. 1160–86/1747–72).
