Abstract	:	This article argues, in the spirit of Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen’s goal of loosening the spirits into a plural pneumatology, that one population of spirits regularly encountered in the world are the spirits of the dead. Through reflection upon the theological statements made across centuries about the communion of saints and the saints themselves, honest consideration of the experiences, practices, and worship lives of the living faithful, and a consideration of how the saints are present to the living through memory and hope, it will be shown that the connection between the living and the dead is alive, present, and spirit-filled.
