The tremendous growth of Christianity in Nigeria is evident from the persecution of the Christians in Nigeria, particularly the Northern part where Muslims see Christianity as a threat to Islam. Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) is one of the greatest Evangelical Churches that are making a giant stride in the proselytizing of both the pagans or heathens and Muslims into Christianity. There are strategies devised by ECWA coordinated by the District Church Councils (D.C.C.s) in reaching out with the Gospel to the perishing world and winning more converts into Christianity. This study examines the D.C.C.’s controversy, which centers on the non-viability of some ECWA D.C.C.s due to their non-compliance to the laid down criteria by ECWA for the creation of new D.C.C.s., one of which is the financial capability of a D.C.C. to take care of it needs. This criterion is majorly used by the G.C.C. for measuring the viability of a D.C.C. because it is seen as a tool for Church Growth in Kwara State and Nigeria at large. The General Church Council (G.C.C.) is blaming the D.C.C. in its failure to coordinate the Local Church Boards under its jurisdiction to comply in their financial obligation by raising enough fund to take care of the administrative work of the D.C.C. and as well as not sending to the G.C.C. the appropriate due of the fifteen percent of the fund raised in each of the L.C.B.s. While on the order hand, the D.C.C. is accusing the G.C.C. for not having the welfare of the L.C.B.s and D.C.C.s at heart but all they are concerned about is finance. The blame game is actually slowing down the rate at which ECWA is impacting the Nigerian society. Current research suggests that ECWA is making positive impact on the political, religious, and socio-economic development of Nigeria society. However, findings have revealed that there is a deeper and more insidious challenge confronting the Christian Church resulting from non-compliance to the laid down criteria for the creation of a new D.C.C., which is not or scarcely mentioned by other authors. Greater percentage of ECWA laity and clergy are not exhibiting Christian maturity in their relationships among themselves. There are divisions among believers within and without the D.C.C.s and this trend tends to denigrate ECWA. Whenever the Church is facing a crisis of leadership among its employees, tribal sentiment tends to be tremendously compounding the situation. This research inquired of the possible strategies that ECWA is planning to employ in solving the crisis within the D.C.C. as well as the likely solutions to the D.C.C.’s controversy. The study also gave recommendations on how ECWA could prevent the future reoccurrence of controversy ensuing from the creation of a new D.C.C.
