Abstract

Showing search results on the internet, is the most fundamental task most of the websites do, including Google, YouTube, Facebook, Yahoo, Bing, Twitter, etc. There is a common pattern of how these websites show the results. It's basically a grid view layout with search results embedded into grid sections with scrolling features. Since the inception of the internet, this kind of user interface hasn’t changed. Fractal is a geometric recursive figure, which can be used to generate a user interface, in which multiple information or search results can be layered and shown on one page. With such a fractal-based user interface, the user would no longer need to scroll as all the information just fits under fractals. This research includes the development of a recursive algorithm to achieve suggested fractal-based user interface for web pages as a new and novel interface structure that will make websites or webpages scroll free interfaces to provide easier access to information.
