Abstract : This research explored the importance of transition services that individuals with mild intellectual disabilities (ID) receive after they finish school and enter career life in Saudi institutions from the perspectives of stakeholders (i.e., teachers, parents, and employers) by conducting a qualitative research on the topic via interviews in the field. I used a phenomenology design which aims at describing participants’ lived experiences in a specific context and understands the phenomenon. The research sample consisted of 10 stakeholders from three groups - four parents, three teachers, and three employers - in a large urban city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). I used online interviews to gather the data from the participants who responded to semi-structured interviews that included 6 open-ended questions to each of the three groups. The results of the research indicate that the stakeholders shared common ideas about the importance of transition services for individuals with mild ID. The findings also point out that transition services helped students with mild ID in the area of academic achievement. In addition, transition services helped individuals with mild ID be organized, independent, and social persons in the community. Based on this research, I recommend that future research be piloted in other regions in Saudi Arabia to identify the perspectives of different stakeholders toward employment-oriented transition services provided for individuals with mild ID.
