Abstract	:	The effect of different amounts of copper on the optical properties of Cux(Ge{0.95}Sn{0.05}Se2)1-x flash-evaporated glassy films was studied. The copper content x of the alloy glasses was varied from 0 to 0.30. It is found that the photodarkening in Cux(Ge{0.95}Sn{0.05}Se2)1-x is completely destroyed for copper concentrations beyond x = 0.10. Results of the present study confirm that the destruction of photodarkening is not a masking effect, but that the photodarkening mechanism itself is not possible beyond this copper concentration.
