Abstract

The project director worked with a select team from Harrison Avenue Baptist Church (HABC) in Harrison, Ohio, to design a strategy for increasing Sunday school attendance. In chapter 1, the project director described the ministry context of HABC. In chapter 2, the project director presented biblical and theological foundations for the Sunday school ministry. The project director looked at Deut 6:1–9, Matt 28:18–20, Acts 2:42–47, and Titus 2:1–8. In chapter 3, the project director identified key components of a successful Sunday school program. The project director noted 7 key components of successful Sunday school programs: Effective Sunday Schools Envision the Potential, Structure for Growth, Adequately Resource their Programs, Recruit and Train Workers, Reach Out to People, Teach the Bible, and Support the Church’s Mission. In chapter 4, the project director gave the details of implementing the ministry project. In chapter 5, the project director evaluated the entire ministry project, identifying strengths and weaknesses of the project and offering suggestions for future implementation.
