Abstract	:	This paper will review the tensions of church and state that Christians are currently facing. By reviewing the historical relationship, it will underscore the radical changes that the world has undergone through the Reformation and the Enlightenment, which have fundamentally changed the way that society organizes itself. The church now faces the challenge of reconciling this new world with the kingdom of God. A new method of interacting with the state requires development to counter the threat of post-modernism, as society revolts against absolute truth in the worship of itself. Therefore, by being politically active, Christians fulfill their civic duty, benefit their society, and introduce the principles of the kingdom of God to the unsaved.
