Abstract	:	This paper explores the cultural, political, and legal realities of Pakistan as they pertain to same-sex relations among women. This research is based on interviews conducted with women living in Pakistan during 2006 – 2007 who identify their primary attraction to be with women. In the paper, the author argues for interrogation of western biases and orientalist thinking when researching and studying sexualities in the non-western context. Through narratives of women participants the research findings challenge the claims upheld within Pakistan that silence existence of same-sex relations in the country. The narratives of women interviewed also reveal that in Pakistan women continue to resist normative western understandings of sexualities while simultaneously challenging the homophobic and patriarchal discourses within the country.
