Abstract : The purpose of this study was to determine and compare the effectiveness of an abstinence until marriage curriculum and a comprehensive sex education curriculum on adolescent's knowledge of safe sexual behavior, their sexual behavior practices and their knowledge on Sexual Transmitted Infection prevention. The participants of the study were 9th grade students at George Washington High School. Each group was given a pre- and post-survey before and after teachings of each curriculum. The answers to the pre- and post-survey were used as data. The statistical program SPSS was used to analyze the data and determine the changes in frequency of knowledge and behavior among the participants. The results showed that both intervention groups had an increase in knowledge of safe sexual behavior and prevention of sexually transmitted infections. The abstinence until marriage group had no change in sexual behavior. The comprehensive group had an increase in safe sexual behavior.
