Abstract
:
The reconstruction of climatic changes in the Upper Quaternary is especially interesting in light of their impact on man and his environment. The knowledge will help face the problems that may arise in the future. The author focusses on a new model of climatic changes in the last 6000 years, and their influence on the peoples of the Middle East. He combines results from the natural sciences with historical documents and archeological findings. Thus various biblical events can be explained by using hydrogeological and paleoclimatic developments. Water shall flow from the Rock is an exciting book for geoscientists interested in the recent past and for those interested in the flourishing and decline of civilizations in the Middle East.
