This book "...highlights mathematical mistakes and misunderstandings. It is a collection of errors found in proofs and solutions in topics such as arithmetic, geometry, algebra, calculus, combinatorics, linear algebra, and complex analysis. Most of these errors are taken from student work. Many are due to carelessness, but others reflect misunderstandings and can be difficult to analyze. Many examples are provided, sorted by topic, from the elementary to the college level. An analysis is provided for many of them.
