This cutting-edge survey of new work highlights the contributions of scholars grappling with the ways gender and sexuality constellate with race. Spanning the humanities and social sciences, and situated in sites across the whole of the black diaspora, the incisive studies gathered here challenge the notion that we are living in a post-racial age, arguing instead for the specificity of black cultural experiences as shaped by gender and sex.
