The first edition of this enduring text was published in 1980, and the most recent, in 2005. The mission for this sixth edition continues to be up-to-date coverage of basic principles and current techniques, and integration of electrophysiologic findings with clinical context, supported by description of common artifacts to promote accurate interpretation. Material is organized in sections on electroencephalography; magnetoencephalography; electromyography, nerve conduction studies, and related techniques; evoked potentials and related techniques; bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction; tests of vestibular function; and electrophysiologic evaluation in special situations.
