Each chapter has a chronology and information on social and economic issues, income, everyday household expenses for services and fees, exchange rates and inflation, the slave trade, and prices of commodities and specific items. Detailed lists of the cost of food, agriculture, and manufactured goods, and items like apparel, furniture, household products, livestock, and other goods, are based on public records.
