The dramatic developments in molecular genetics have brought up new ethical challenges. This book presents the discus- sions which emerged from a joint meeting of the Foundation IPSEN and the WHO in Brno, close to the monastery where Gregor Mendel founded the science of genetics, where a number of molecular geneticists, psychiatrists, churchmen, and legal professionals metto consider just these topics.
