The selected papers from the 1994 meeting of the European Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery provides an update of the present state-of-art of stereotactic technique and the neurosurgical treatment of movement disorders and pain. The advances in this subspeciality of neurosurgery are represented by articles on frameless stereotaxy, navigator viewing wand systems, neurotransplantation, pallidotomy, intraspinal implantation of chromaffin cells as pain treatment and critical analyses of spinal cord stimulation.
