Abstract	:	Since the 1990s, the world has witnessed the emergence of globalization. It became a hot debate topic for scholars in the field. The theory behind this dissertation is derived from thinking critically about statism and the concept of <i>political</i> globalization--it fundamentally stems from the emergence of globalization and its growing impacts on domestic government. It is not my intention to downplay the role of state as an important actor, but to it highlight the significant growing role of international nongovernmental organizations (INGOs) in the era of globalization. I present here the cases of Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Watch (HRW)--as two examples that represent INGOs--on pressuring the governments of Iran and Venezuela in the aspect of human rights.
