Abstract : The topic of the research is to compare the process of the democratic transformation that took place in Tunisia and Egypt in 2011. More specifically, the main question in this research is, what are the internal political factors that have contributed to the relative success of the transitional phase in Tunisia and also contributed to the failure of the transition in Egypt? Despite the social and cultural and linguistic and historical and religious ties and geographic area that links Egypt and Tunisia, the democratization process has taken a different path.
