Abstract	:	Islam's presiding stance on human nature states that man is solely good. This dissertation reveals from Islamic sources, however, that human nature is actually dual. The Qur'an not only attests that <i>fitrah's</i> innate good compels man to believe in Allah, but also to a Commanding Soul which incites him to perpetrate evil.
