This qualitative research study describes the influence of women’s educational opportunities in Iran. Four research questions were utilized to explore the importance of women’s educational opportunities in Iran as perceived by college-educated Iranian women in the United Sates. A purposeful, snowball sampling was used to identify the participants. The findings suggest the influential roles of parental supports, community supports, personal motivation, and challenges. The findings also suggest the participants’ responses regarding parents indicate the elements such as providing emotional support, providing financial support, encouraging higher levels of education, and not discriminating by gender help Iranian women in reaching their educational opportunities. Community influences were cultural and that of peer influences. The findings regarding personal motivation signify factors such as acquiring an education for self-growth, creating a supportive environment in the U.S., having money as a means for motivation, and being able to help others in the world. Finally, factors such as gender discrimination, religious barriers, lack of choices, language barriers, and cultural barriers were considered as main challenges Iranian women encounter in their educational paths.
