Abstract : Interpretive phenomenological analysis was used to examine the effects of prejudice and discrimination, if any, upon young Muslim Americans' religious identity, and also seek to identify their methods of coping. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight participants from the San Francisco Bay Area. All participants fell between the ages of 18 and 30 years of age and had been residing in the United States since at least September 11<sup> th</sup>, 2001.
