In this thesis, we study the optical and electrical properties of one-dimensional and two-dimensional nanostructures used for different energy applications. These applications would include solar cells, LEDs, nanolasers and water splitting cells. Different characterization methodologies are used here; inducing but not limited to static and time-resolved photoluminescence at room temperature and low temperatures, Raman spectroscopy, photocurrent spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, electron beam induced current, etc.
