Abstract	:	A detailed study of the external morphology of Scarites eurytus Fisch. (Carabidae, Scaritini) was carried out to evaluate the morphological characters of the Carabidae. A general study dealing with the whole internal anatomy of Carabus violaceus L. was made. This was followed by a comparative study of the internal anatomy of 86 European species to examine how well the internal anatomy supports the classical classification of the family Carabidae.
