With the 30 chapters compiled in this volume, Magee et al. present students and clinicians in sports medicine with rehabilitation guidelines for managing the musculoskeletal injuries and special needs of athletes. Physical therapists, athletic trainers, physicians, and orthopedic surgeons from North America and Brazil address psychological, nutritional, environmental, and pharmacologic factors associated with sport participation and health; the biomechanics of specific sport activities and how they affect injury development and rehabilitation; the management of injuries and illness; and concerns for specific patient populations based on gender, age, or physical ability.
