Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Mūsā b. ʿAlī al-Andalusī al-Jayyānī al-Anṣārī (d. 593/1197) was known primarily for his poetry on the subject of alchemy. He was also called Burhān al-Dīn, or Shams al-Dīn, Abū l-Ḥasan b. Musā b. Arfaʿ Raʾsahu al-Anṣārī al-Jayyānī al-Shudhūrī al-Gharnāṭī. Originally from Jaén, he lived most of his life in Fez, where he was a preacher (khaṭīb) , praised for his asceticism and piety. He was also a scientist knowledgeable in the practice of alchemy and
