Abstract
:
"The new Oxford text of Lysias is part of a larger project involving the re-editing of a number of Athenian orators of the classical period. This text is the only complete critical edition of the surviving works of the orator in existence. It combines a new edition of the speeches preserved in the medieval manuscript tradition (based on the most up-to-date evaluation of the transmission) with a comprehensive collection of the fragments preserved indirectly through citation in ancient sources and in papyrus discoveries in the twentieth century."--Jacket.
