Muḥammad al-Muwayliḥī (d. 1930) was an Egyptian author and journalist whose early career was inextricably bound up with that of his father Ibrāhīm al-Muwayliḥī (d. 1906). The date of his birth is the subject of debate. If Muḥammad was born in 1858, as some suggest, then his father was only 14 years old when he was born. If Muḥammad was born in 1868, as others suggest, then Muḥammad would have begun work as a clerk in 1882 at the age of 14 years. What is known about Muḥammad
