Perihelion - 1. the point in the orbit of a planet or comet at which it is nearest to the sun.It’s 1968 and the Francis family is on the edge, falling apart at the seams. Doreen is cheating on Don with Sofia, and Don is having an affair with their neighbor, Rose; their daughter, Abby, copes by following predictions of end times, and her brother, Brad, stays stoned to avoid thinking about the draft. All while the world crumbles around them: assassinations, serial killings, the Vietnam War, riots, protests, marches, and, worst of all, the potential for nuclear Armageddon.
